Milton Ruiz
Milton started his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2011 in Memphis, TN training under John David Shackelford from his white to purple belt. In 2019, he moved to Little Rock and started training under coach Bruno Cesar de Souza at Westside BJJ. In November of 2020, Milton was awarded his brown belt under coach Bruno.
Milton started training in BJJ as a way to get in shape and to learn self-defense. Parallel to his BJJ training, he has been a student of other grappling arts, such as Catch Wrestling and Judo, as well as Muay-Thai, MMA and Krav Maga. BJJ however, remains Milton’s passion and he has trained all over the U.S at different academies during his travels, as well as in Rio de Janeiro at the Gordo Academy Barra. He has been teaching the adult fundamentals class at Westside BJJ since the fall of 2019.
